Working Group «Sustainable Supply Chain Management»
For many companies, the management of ecological and social aspects of their activities is becoming increasingly important, not only in their own production, but also along the corporate value chains at home and abroad. Social and regulatory developments abroad and in Switzerland - such as the Federal Council's National Action Plan for Business and Human Rights (NAP) - as well as an increasingly broad public of consumers and investors demand that Swiss companies comply with human rights and environmental standards along their entire value chain.
The Working Group Sustainable Supply Chain Management
Around 30 companies meet three to four times a year, with at least one meeting taking place in person. Physical meetings are hosted by one of the participating companies. The working group represents a wide range of industries such as Retail, ICT, Energy, Extractives, Building & Construction, Transport & Logistics, Insurance & Finance and Pharmaceuticals. The meetings focus on a sustainable supply chain topic of interest to the group.
The Working Group’s content is aligned with the OECD Due Diligence Guidance for Responsible Business Conduct and the UN Guiding Principles. Participating companies use the Working Group as a platform to exchange, learn and to practice Responsible Business Conduct and strive to progressively embed these principles in their management systems.
